You are warmly welcome to apply for all programs offered in Zhengzhou University (ZZU). As the largest university in China (in terms of student number), Zhengzhou University has witnessed its rapid development from a local institution into the renowned university. The President Scholarship of Zhengzhou University has sponsored hundreds of fresh candidates to pursue their PhD degree since 2017. In 2020, 196 applicants of PhD program were awarded with full scholarship dispite the COVID-19. We warmly welcome excellent applicants abroad to pursue your doctor degree at Zhengzhou University with full scholarship in 2022.
Due to the challenges and chaos of online study caused by the COVID-19, some PhD programs might be suspended in this March intake. Application will be re-considered for September intake, if the PhD program applied is suspended in this March intake. The deadline and selection of this March intake has not settled yet. The registration of awardees of March intake will be postponed to September, if the current situation remains.
Coverage & Duration
The President Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and living allowance. It is renewable upon the annual review result. The duration of scholarship varies from 3 to 4 years according to the duration of the full-time doctor program.
Program & Medium of Instruction
There are 127 doctor programs in 24 Schools of Zhengzhou University sponsored by the scholarship. All programs can be instructed in Chinese. A number of programs can be instructed in English. For detailed information of program and scholarship, please visit: http://international.zzu.edu.cn.
Eligibility
Non-Chinese citizen, healthy, without any crime records, aged less than 45 years old; with excellent academic record of master, potentially to be a highly specialized researcher, engineer or professional;
For program taught in Chinese, HSK level 5 scored over 210 (Applicants with HSK Level 4 can apply for the preparatory program); For EMI programs, IELTS over 6.5 or equivalent, or previous degree study taught in English;
Application
Applicant can apply all year round, while the intake only in March and September each year.
Application documents include: photocopy of passport, application form; certified diploma or certificate and transcript; research proposal; two reference letters; language proficiency test report; certificate of no criminal record, physical examination record, and etc.

The application will be assessed by Scholarship Committee; and the result will be announced online. Awardees can choose to apply for intakes of March or September.
